Sky internet users have reported issues with their Wi-Fi and broadband.
Hundreds of users have reported outages on Down Detector since 5 am this morning, following reports late last night about broadband dropping out.
Many of those who reported issues cited issues with the website and internet – but the majority said they were experiencing ‘total blackout’.
A Sky spokesperson told Metro: ‘Earlier today, some of our customers in the Barnsley area experienced issues with their Sky Broadband and Talk services – the problem has now been resolved. We’re sorry for any inconvenience our customers may have faced during this time.
‘We are investigating a separate issue with Sky Broadband and Talk services affecting some customers in St Austell and surrounding areas. We are extremely sorry for the disruption this may be causing and are working to get this resolved as soon as possible.’
On Sunday, Mastercard users around the globe experienced outages and issues making purchases and payments.
Customers in the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States and France all reported issues online.
A spokesperson for Mastercard told Metro: ‘There was a period of time earlier today in which some Mastercard transactions were declined. The situation has been resolved and all systems are working as normal.’
Barclays also was forced to apologise after an outage saw customers unable to transfer funds or access the bank’s app.
Hundreds of issues were reported by users last week, and Barclays’ service status page confirmed technical problems with online banking, payment and transfers and their app.
Barclays appears to be operating normally now.
