Nationwide and First Direct are down, with some customers claiming they have not been paid on pay day.
Outage reports on Downdetector are in the high hundreds for the major banks, with customers experiencing issues logging-in, using online banking and transferring money.
Outages have also been reported by Halifax, Lloyd Bank, Bank of Scotland and TSB customers, though the banks say there are no known issues.
Some issues have also been reported with using Barclays, the Co-Op Bank, Monzo and NatWest on Downdetector, which monitors internet disruptions.
‘Has anyone been paid today yet?’ asked one Nationwide user on social media.
On Nationwide’s service status webpage, the bank reports: ‘Some incoming and outgoing payments are delayed at the moment. Everything else is working normally.’
First Direct said on its X customer service account: ‘We understand some customers are having issues making payments right now. We’re really sorry and are investigating as a matter of urgency. We will share an update as soon as possible.’
TSB’s official X account replied to one customer saying they cannot access her mobile banking app with: ‘We aren’t aware of any issues currently.’
Lloyds Bank similarly told a customer: ‘We’re not aware of any known issues at present.’
