Traditional Asian cuisine that includes samsa (Uzbekistan), manti (Kyrgyzstan), butter chicken (Pakistan) and mango lassi (India) will be on the menu when Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Kearney International Center hosts “Central and South Asia Night” on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the University’s Centennial Student Union Ballroom.
Samsa (baked pastry dough with meat fillings), manti (a dumpling dish), butter chicken and mango lassi (a drink with creamy blend of mangoes, yogurt and other flavors) are among the specialty foods from nine countries in Central and South Asia that will be served along with cultural performances from the region during the evening.
The cost of dinner and traditional entertainment from Central and South Asia is $20 for the general public, $10 for children ages 10 and under, and $10 for MSU students. Tickets may be purchased in advance on Facebook or at the door.
Free parking will be available in all University parking lots near Centennial Student Union.
