Jennifer Aniston's three-word reaction to Gene Hackman tears after star's mystery death

Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to Hollywood legend Gene Hackman who was found dead at the age of 95 alongside his wife and dog last month.

The Friends star shared two candid clips from Hackman’s interview with James Lipton for the television series Inside the Actor’s Studio.

A clip of the interview focuses on the lasting pain Hackman suffered due to his father’s abandonment of their family.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Jennifer, 56, shared a heartfelt reaction to the late actor’s words, who looked to be close to tears as he shared details of his family struggles.

“I felt this,” wrote Aniston in the caption with a heart emoji.

In a second clip the late on-screen star jokingly said maybe being abandoned by his father helped him become better actor.

Aniston captioned the post: “Rest in peace #GeneHackman.”

In the video Lipton asked Hackman how old he was when his father left. Hackman replied, “I was about 13, I guess. I was down the street playing with some guys, and he drove by and kind of waved and that was it.”

Hackman became emotional before joking, “It’s only been 65 years or so.”

After marrying and starting his own family, Hackman’s long absences created both physical and emotional distance between him and his own children.

They were estranged at times, but in later years, they reconnected.

Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their home last Wednesday (February 26).

Authorities have said the couple had been dead for several days when they were discovered but have not released a cause of death.
