FIC Report (Oyo State) – An Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan has, on Monday 13th, January 2025 , granted bail to the ex-wife of Ooni of Ife, Ooni Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Queen Shikeola NAOMI, the proprietor of Agidigbo FM in Ibadan, Oriyomi Hamzat and the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, Mr. Abdullahi Fasasi.
Justice K. B Olawoyin, presiding over Court 8, Ring Road, Ibadan gave the ruling granting the bail, following a bail application filed by the Counsel of the defendants.
The defendants are facing a four-count of conspiracy, acceleration of death, negligent acts causing harm, and failure to provide adequate security and medical facilities following the tragedy that happened during the Christmas funfair in Ibadan on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, where no fewer than 35 children died.
The court had, January 7, fixed today, Monday 13th January 2025, for the ruling after Silekunola, Hazmat and Fasasi’s lawyers argued their bail application.
The trio were granted bail after the judge listened to the arguments of their counsel.
The Judge also gave five conditions for the bail to include N10 million and two sureties, who must submit landed documents within the jurisdiction of the court.
The other conditions are that the applicants must deposit their international passports with the court and they are barred from granting any form of interview during the pendency of the case.
