Gwen Stefani divides fans by selling new album Bouquet on the Home Shopping Network

Gwen Stefani has divided fans by selling her new album on the Home Shopping Network just weeks after Coldplay was savaged for selling theirs on QVC.

The  55-year-old No Doubt frontwoman – who was recently seen cheering on her son at a football game – appeared live on the Home Shopping Network on Tuesday.

She was there to sell her fifth solo studio album – titled Bouquet – as she sat down for half an hour with presenter Nicole Hickl.

Not only did the music star talk about the album but it was also cut with pre-recorded performances of some of the new songs from the album.

As it was a rather unconventional way of selling an album – especially in the advent of streaming – the move was met with a mixed reaction by her fans.

One of Gwen’s loyal followers on X (formally Twitter) posted a screen grab of her appearance on HSN with rather scathing commentary.

The user wrote: ‘I never want to hear another fandom complain about their favs career again.

‘Gwen Stefani is out her shilling her album on HSN. I have been in the TRENCHES for this woman.’

Some of the replies to the polarizing post blamed Gwen’s 48-year-old country star husband Blake Shelton for the move.

One wrote: ‘Nothing she can do is wrong. (I blame Blake). Otherwise she’s still an icon.

‘And honestly, Somebody Else’s is a SMASH!!!! Actually her best song of this entire “era”.’

Another said: ‘no one has suffered more trials than those of us defending the music that came out right when she met blake shelton’

Others believed that selling the album on HSN was a good move.

One X user wrote: ‘It’s actually a smart strategy. All Those old ladies who watch her on The Voice are going to eat this up.’

Last month, Coldplay was roasted on social media as they made a similar move  for promoting their 10th album, Moon Music, on the home shopping channel, QVC.

The sales segment, which included all four members of the group performing various tracks off the new record, sent X users into a frenzy as they expressed shock over seeing the British rock band on the network.

‘Now why the f**k is Coldplay performing live on QVC?!’ one stunned viewer tweeted.

Another wrote: ‘Holy s**t that QVC broadcast with Coldplay shows everything that is wrong with capitalist consumerism. The music is good though.’

A third called the segment ‘unhinged.’

The appearance even caused some fans of the group to question their ‘artistic integrity’ or cause their brains to ‘shut down.’

‘Yesterday, my wife and I saw Coldplay perform live on QVC and our jaws are still on the floor. What’s happened to artistic integrity?’ one X user asked.

There were users on X who compared the similar moves by Gwen and Coldplay and how their fans have not reacted too kindly.
