SulNOx secures Malaysian patent, expands presence in Southeast Asia – Morningstar

(Alliance News) – SulNOx Group PLC on Friday said it has secured a new patent in Malaysia, expanding its portfolio of intellectual property across Southeast Asia.

The London-based hydrocarbon fuel developer said the patent covers multiple formulation versions, including its Berol 6446 heavy sulphur Fuel oils emulsifiers and SulNOxEco fuel conditioners.

SulNOx said Malaysia represents a “significant” market, with the maritime industry accounting for approximately 40% of the country’s GDP. The country has nearly 3,000 miles of coastline and eight major ports, including Port Klang, the world’s 12th-largest port and the second-largest in Southeast Asia.

Chief Executive Officer Ben Richardson said: “Our Malaysia patent is an important piece of the jigsaw for us in South East Asia and a welcome addition to a growing portfolio.

“SulNOx has identified several opportunities in this exciting market, where many large industrial players are under pressure to meet tough sustainability goals while working hard to reduce fuel costs. We are encouraged by the potential to deploy our zero-capex solutions at scale across key sectors in Malaysia and its neighbours in the region.”

Shares in SulNOx were flat at 95.00 pence each in the Aquis exchange in London on Friday.
