BLACK Friday is just around the corner once more, with shoppers on the lookout for massive discounts in the seasonal price-slashing.
The annual celebration of sales serves as an unofficial kick-off to the Christmas period and sees some of the biggest discounts of the year.
The concept originated way back in the 1930’s over in the US when then-president Franklin D Roosevelt shifted the date of Thanksgiving to elongate the festive shopping season.
It is traditionally marked on the day after Thanksgiving, with retailers bringing prices down to attract customers ahead of Christmas.
But with the massive growth of American brands on UK high streets, as well as the emergence of online shopping powerhouses like Amazon, the event has been imported this side of the pond.
Now largely replacing Boxing Day as the biggest day on the retail calendar, with around £1 billion forked out on cut-price products each year.
And, while it’s usually a day for deals on tech, clothing and even food, there’s plenty on offer for petrolheads too.
For example, online retailer My Car Cleaning is offering hefty discounts on a range of products to leave your motor sparkling.
Shoppers can pick up wax applicators, protective rinse aid and even a “bug remover” spray all at a fraction of the price.
Their Valet-Pro Citrus-scented pre-wash mixture has seen its price halved from £8 to £4.
And a limited edition air freshener created as a crossover with Infinity Wax has also had a 50% drop from £10 to £5.
Elsewhere, customers at Euro Car Parts can enjoy 10% off their full range of single wiper blades.
You can replace your wipers for just £13.49 each (down from £14.99), which is especially important as wetter weather sweeps in and temperatures dip.
Or, if you fancy some old school in-person shopping, you can pop into a Halfords store to check out some discounted tools.
A whopping 200-piece socket and ratchet set has been reduced by 40% from £330 to just £200.
And for the more safety-conscious road user, there’s a similar discount on a Nextbase 320 XR from £169 to £99.
It comes after we revealed a 24p kitchen essential that can prevent your windscreen from frosting up on chilly mornings.
